Dr. Hormel is an orthopedic surgeon with subspecialty training in knee and shoulder surgery. His practice is focused on the surgical treatment of injuries and sports-related conditions of the knee and shoulder. His goal is to return athletes and recreational athletics back to full athletic participation using both surgical and rehabilitative methods.

Dr. Hormel is a native of Bellevue, Washington. He has practiced for over 15 years with Orthopedic Physician Associates. He and his wife Shari have 4 children. He enjoys skiing, golf, woodworking and architecture. Dr. Hormel stays very active and involved in baseball and fast-pitch softball, coaching and helping to prevent and repair athletic injuries.

Dr. Hormel’s expertise is in: Knee and shoulder arthroscopy and reconstruction, sports injuries, knee replacements, cartilage regeneration and meniscal preservation.

Dr. Hormel came highly recommended by a friend. He more than met my expectations. I am pain free in my shoulder for the first time in many, many years. Dear Dr. Hormel, thank you for the extra time you spent during our visit yesterday and please extend our thanks to Trish as well. Every doctor that saw my husband focused on his knee and talked about replacement. Dear Dr. Hormel, I just got home from school after a really great soccer season and wanted to thank you for everything you did for my knee. I started training with the team inside last winter after rehabbing in the weight room all fall and I haven’t had any setbacks since. Halfway through this season I honestly couldn’t tell I’d torn my ACL and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that. This was one of the best and most memorable soccer seasons I’ve ever had and I would not have predicted that a year and a half ago. I’m looking forward to another year of soccer and climbing and I can’t thank you enough. I am so grateful for everything you did.
