OPA Announces Staffing Changes
It is with great pride and a touch of sadness that OPA announces the retirement of Steven J. Anderson, MD, effective March 1, 2025. With a career spanning over 40 years, Dr. Anderson has assisted thousands of patients with all manner of orthopedic injuries and conditions—helping them return to healthy physical activities and sports.
While Dr. Anderson has cared for patients of all ages, he was one of the first physicians in the country to provide specialty level sports medicine care for the pediatric and adolescent age group. He has served as chair for the Committee on Sports Medicine and Fitness for the American Academy of Pediatrics which has worked largely to set safety standards for youth sports. He has been a leading author and principal editor for 2 editions of Care of the Young Athlete (a comprehensive textbook published jointly by the American Academy of Pediatrics [AAP] and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons [AAOS]). In 2022, Dr. Anderson received the Thomas Shaffer Award from the AAP for his lifetime contributions to the field.
Joining OPA: Dr. Jason Boyer – Orthopedic Surgeon – Sports Medicine
Dr. Jason Boyer has been treating patients for sports and orthopedic injuries on the Eastside since 2009. He is passionate about treating injuries of the shoulder, knee, ankle, elbow, and hip, including fractures and joint replacements. Throughout his career, he has helped athletes and non-athletes of all abilities return to their desired activities. When surgery is necessary, Dr. Boyer employs the latest in cutting edge and minimally invasive techniques.
In his free time, Dr. Boyer enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, as well as outdoor activities including hiking, camping, backpacking, playing various sports, attending sporting events and skiing.
Joining OPA: Dr. L. Kirk Lorimer – D.P.M.
Dr. L. Kirk Lorimer is a Board-Certified Podiatric Surgeon specializing in the treatment of foot and ankle conditions. With extensive training and experience, he provides expert care for a wide range of issues, including fractures, arthritis, bunions, hammertoes, heel pain, and diabetic foot care. He is also well-versed in the treatment of nail and skin conditions of the foot and ankle. Dr Lorimer is particularly passionate about caring for athletes and active individuals, helping them return to their routines quickly and safely.
Raised in Casper, Wyoming, Dr. Lorimer initially pursued education in vocal music before a required biology class changed the trajectory of his life. Captivated by anatomy, and physiology, he shifted his focus to medicine. His wife, a Registered Nurse, shares his passion for healthcare. Together, they enjoy spending time with their four married children, their spouses, and their ten grandchildren.
Joining OPA: Amanda Radovich, PA-C
Amanda received her bachelor’s degree in Sports Medicine at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas, where she also was a 4-year member of the Track and Field team. She attended PA school at Salus University in Elkins Park, PA graduating in 2013. Prior to joining OPA, she has over 11 years of experience in orthopedic surgery alongside Dr. Jason Boyer. Due to her athletic background, her biggest passion is treating athletes of all ages.
In her free time she enjoys attending Seattle Kraken hockey and UW football games (and the occasional trip home for any Kansas Jayhawks sporting event), concerts and traveling.
